Alexander IV releases ‘Touch of Gold’ and ‘All I Have To Say’

Following the soulful debut single “This Won’t Do” featuring Cézanne, Dutch producer and multi-instrumentalist Alexander IV returns with the second and third singles from his upcoming album ‘Alchemist’.

Out now on DSPs, ‘Touch of Gold’ sets the tone for the album with a cinematic jazz sample, a head-fake of an intro, and a signature beat flip that balances elegance with grit. “I absolutely loved making this track and it came together quickly and naturally,” says Alexander IV, aka Joris Feiertag. “The jazz sample instantly grabbed me, and right away I had the idea for that syncopated beat switch at the beginning—just to throw listeners off. I love how the smooth jazz flips into a gritty hip-hop beat right after. When I created Touch of Gold, I knew immediately it had to open the album.” ‘Touch of Gold’ is an instrumental statement piece that encapsulates Alexander IV’s sonic identity—rooted in beat culture and jazz, influenced by artists like Kruder & Dorfmeister, SAULT, and Mr. Scruff, and layered with a level of detail that rewards repeat listens. With its warm textures, chopped samples, and confident rhythmic shifts, ‘Touch of Gold’ isn’t just an intro—it’s a mission statement for Alchemist, a record built on transformation, nostalgia, and deep musicality.

Having firmly set the tone with the first single “This Won’t Do” featuring Cézanne and “Touch of Gold” Alexander IV now shares ‘All I Have to Say‘ —a smoky, late-night instrumental that fuses dusty jazz textures with Dilla-inspired swing. Sitting somewhere between Roy Hargrove and J Dilla in a seedy Soho basement, it’s a raw, reflective track that continues the album’s jazz and hip-hop conversation. “I think I was really inspired by Mr. Scruff on this one—probably because of the brass sample,” Joris explains. “I love how the groove feels laid-back yet still pushes forward at the same time.”

Alexander IV is the pseudonym of eclectic Dutch producer, multi-instrumentalist, and beat-maker Joris Feiertag. Under this now well-worn moniker, the renowned sonic architect moves away from his more club-focused offerings to explore the deep roots of hip-hop, soul, and jazz.

His debut full-length album as Alexander IV, entitled ‘Alchemist’, is a rich journey through those beloved musical touchstones. Across thirteen intricately crafted tracks, the album twists and turns through halcyon, introspective beats, stirring soul, resonant Afro-jazz, and future-funk excursions—featuring an array of special guests along the way. As the title ‘Alchemist’ suggests, Joris has taken all of these elements: analog and digital, past and present and transformed them into something pure and golden. The full album Alchemist arrives on March 27th 2026 via Sonar Kollektiv.
